Republican presidential candidate [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] insists that “so far” Donald Trump has not shown that he is qualified to be president.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday with Chuck Todd, Rubio argued, “I just have very strong reservations about what he has expressed up to this point about his understanding of some of these critical issues before our country.”

Rubio explained, “Well, the most important thing a president will be is Commander in Chief, and that requires having an understanding of the complex issues of foreign policy. Foreign policy presents us often with hard choices, not black or white choices. Often times, your choices are down to less than ideal outcomes, but you’ve got to choose what’s the best one for the country. I personally believe he continues to struggle to articulate that.”

Todd continued to press Rubio on Trump’s qualifications, and Rubio said, “Well as of now, I think I’m the most qualified. That’s why I’m running… I just have very strong reservations about what he has expressed up to this point about his understanding of some of these critical issues before our country. He still has another month before the Iowa caucus, so we will see if he does it.”

When asked if he thought Trump could learn, Rubio suggested, “Well he hasn’t done it so far, but he’s not alone. I think others in the field have confused this as well in terms of where they stand of these issues.”
