Chris Christie suggested that Barack Obama is a “feckless weakling” when it comes to handling Syria and Russia.
Tuesday, during the CNN GOP debate, Christie said that he would be “prepared” to shoot down a Russian plane and risk war if a Russian plane violated a U.S. no-fly zone.
“A no-fly zone means a no-fly zone,” Christie insisted. “That’s what it means. See maybe, because I’m from New Jersey I have this kind of plain language hang up.”
Christie explained that, “I would talk to Vladimir Putin a lot. And I would say to him, listen, ‘Mr. President, there is a no-fly zone in Syria, you fly in, it applies to you.’ And yes, we would shoot down the planes of Russian pilots, if in fact they were stupid enough to think that this president was the same feckless weakling that the president we have in the Oval Office is right now.”
