Real estate mogul and presidential candidate Donald Trump Tweeted that wages in America are too low Monday, but in the November 10th Republican debate stated that American wages were too high.

In the November 10 Republican debate, Trump stated “[t]axes too high, wages too high. We’re not going to be able to compete against the world. I hate to say it, but we have to leave it the way it is.” Trump was responding to a question about the minimum wage as shown by the video below.
However, Trump doubled down on his statement after the debate during an interview saying “It’s a tough position politically…We have to become competitive with the world. Our taxes are too high, our wages are too high. Everything is too high. We have to compete with other countries.”
During an interview the next day with Fox News, Trump stated that he never said wages were too high, just that the minimum wage should not increase.
Trump’s Monday Tweet came after Democratic candidate Senator Bernie Sanders said in an interview Sunday that his message would resonate among Trump’s working-class supporters and claimed Trump “thinks wages in America are too high.”
Trump promptly responded to Sanders by saying on Twitter that the Democratic candidate had lied and would “double or triple” taxes.
