Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he regrets not entering the 2016 presidential race.
“Sure, I regret it every day,” Biden told NBC Connecticut WVIT, “but it was the right decision for my family and for me.”
Still, Biden claimed that he plans “to stay deeply involved.”
Earlier in the interview, Biden implied that the “kinds of things that Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are saying are so inconsistent with” what the country believes, but the Democratic Party still has “two great candidates.”
“There’s real robust debate between Hillary and Bernie, as there would’ve been if I was in the race,” he said.
“It has not been a very illuminating campaign so far.”
