Planned Parenthood gave its first ever presidential primary endorsement to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton Thursday.

“Everything Planned Parenthood has believed in and fought for over the past 100 years is on the ballot,” Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said of the endorsement.

Additionally, Richards added that PP sent endorsement surveys to every presidential candidate but only received responses from the Democrats. Furthermore, “Clinton’s record on women’s issues and health care gave her an edge over” fellow candidates Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders, reports The New York Times.

Clinton said Thursday she is “honored” to receive the baby bump.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed legislation that cut off all of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding.

Republican Utah Rep. [crscore]Jason Chaffetz[/crscore] called Planned Parenthood an organization that “provides no unique services worthy of federal subsidies from the American taxpayer.”
