MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough ranted Friday that Hillary Clinton should “have the guts” to take questions from gun rights supporters as President Obama did during a town hall event Thursday evening.

“President Barack Obama actually did a town hall meeting where he talked to real people who actually — oh, my God — disagreed with him, and he did well,” Scarborough said Friday. “And there was a real debate about guns in America, which we have to have.”

Scarborough was responding to Clinton’s tweet criticizing Donald Trump’s call for ending gun-free school zones.

“Yeah, we do deserve better, Hillary,” the host said. “We’d like you to have the guts that the president of the United States had last night and invite people who don’t believe in exactly what you believe so you don’t have to walk around a town hall meeting looking like a robot, sounding like a robot.” (VIDEO: Watch Taya Kyle Confront Obama During Town Hall Event On Guns In America)

“Listen, I’m not lined up with my party on guns, on a lot of issues like background checks,” Scarborough admitted. “We need to have that discussion, or else people are going to stay their corners. The president did his job. Hillary, I’d love to see you do your job instead of having your staff tweet it out.”

“Why don’t you actually talk to people who disagree with you and get out of your bubble? You’d be surprised. Things would probably go as well for as they did in 2008 when you actually showed your human side,” he suggested. “Just a radical thought, I don’t know.”
