The Golden Globes got awkward Sunday night when Ricky Gervais had to introduce Mel Gibson.
Gervais famously made fun of Gibson in 2006 after the actor went on an anti-Semitic rant and blamed Jews for the world’s issues when he was being arrested for driving under the influence.
While they were arresting him, police said Gibson called a female officer “sugar tits.”
“I wasn’t judging him, but now I find myself in the awkward position of having to introduce him,” Gervais told the crowd. “I blame NBC for this terrible situation. What the fuck does sugar tits even mean?” (RELATED: Trump Fans Won’t Like The Joke Ricky Gervais Just Made During The Golden Globes)
But Gibson maintains that he never said that.
