Judge Andrew Napolitano said it was a “profound and direct violation of the Geneva Conventions” for Iran to show the American sailors on television.
Appearing on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” on Thursday, Napolitano said “this tape is being paraded by the Iranians all over the world to show their dominance at this moment. ” (VIDEO: Iran Releases Footage Of Captive US Sailors)
The U.S. officer in charge “could a hero, [or] he could be a goat. One way to look at it is, he saved his men, not a shot was fired, not a drop of blood was spilled, all the American equipment came back,” Napolitano claimed.
“Another way to look at it is, this tape is being paraded by the Iranians all over the world to show their dominance at this moment,” Napolitano said. “That is a profound and direct violation of the Geneva Conventions, which prohibits public displays of prisoners.” (RELATED: American Sailor Apologizes On Iranian State TV)
