During Thursday’s undercard Republican primary debate, Rick Santorum said that as president he would tear up President Obama’s proposed Iranian nuclear deal, because “Iran has already torn it up.”
“Iran has not approved the agreement that President Obama has said they approved,” he continued. “They have approved a different agreement in their ‘parliament.'”
“The fact of the matter is they have violated this agreement… and here’s the pathetic part,” Santorum added.
“The President announced that we were going to impose sanctions, but then President Rouhani went on Twitter and said there would be retaliations, and what did we do? We backed down.”
