David Brock, Media Matters founder and a Clinton ally, said Sunday that he thinks Donald Trump will win the Republican nomination, and that it would be a “tough race with Hillary.”

Brock previously predicted Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] would be the GOP nominee in December, but now thinks he was mistaken. He also told CNN he doesn’t “agree with some Dem thinking that Trump would be easy to beat.”

Sources told a Virginia-based leaflet that Brock’s union allies are worried that rank-and-file members could give Trump significant support. (RELATED: How Donald Trump Wins The White House)

This has Brock reportedly rushing his SuperPAC American Bridge to prepare an opposition research book against Trump. It is also receiving increased funding in order to help devise a new strategy to face Trump instead of Cruz.
