#NotAllMuslims Force Germany To Close Barn Door

Remember this?

German Chancellor Angela Merkel appears on the cover of Time Magazine's Person of the Year issue in this handout photo

Remember why they picked her?

“[Germany] would welcome refugees as casualties of radical Islamist savagery, not carriers of it.”

Sounds great. How’s that going, by the way?

Greg Botelho, CNN:

Germany — long seen as one of Europe’s most welcoming countries for refugees fleeing war zones in the Middle East and beyond — is moving to tighten its rules for asylum seekers, action that follows uproar surrounding mass robberies and sex assaults.

Chancellor Angela Merkel announced what’s referred to as “Asylum Package II” on Thursday…

Like others around Europe, Germany is in the middle of a migration crisis…

The influx has put European nations on the spot. Some, like Hungary and Slovenia, have responded by erecting walls or fences or other measures signaling they do not want refugees to flood their homelands…

Germany has been hailed for taking a starkly different approach, with Merkel being recognized as TIME magazine’s 2015 Person of the Year in part for committing to accepting 800,000 migrants in 2015, far more than any other European country.

Yep. Sorry about all the gang-rapes and stuff, Damen und Mädchen, but at least Angie got a lot of great press.

It’s nice to assume that all cultures are basically equal, and that all people are basically good. It’s nice not to hurt anyone’s feelings by using descriptive terms like “Muslim” when you’re talking about a mob of 1,000 guys groping and outright raping women in the street. It’s nice to be nice.

This is what 2016 Germany gets for being nice.
