A police officer in Irving, Texas shot a robber in the head as the criminal held a woman hostage on Friday.
The thug entered the Cash Store and proceeded to rob the business. An employee hit the alarm which sent police to the location, according to Dallas News. (RELATED: Two Chicago Thugs Learned The Hard Way That Good Guys With Guns Will Shoot Back [VIDEO])
The robber, who has not been identified publicly, held a woman as a human shield as he confronted police outside. A police officer made an incredible shot to the robber’s head to end the mayhem and free the hostage.
Irving police spokesman James McLellan referred to the responding police officers as heroes, and indicated they have been put on administrative leave. (RELATED: Armed Citizen Shoots And Kills Waffle House Robber)
“The two officers were here quickly, within minutes and were able to engage the suspect They couldn’t let him leave with the hostage … By all appearances this was the last resort for them,” McLellan told the media.
The female hostage was unharmed.
