Geraldo Rivera said Friday on “Fox & Friends” the one reason people like Bernie Sanders is because “everyone is smoking dope.”
Rivera thinks, “Bernie Sanders is so clearly a fringe candidate, it is charming to me that young people [support him].”
When co-host Steve Doocy asked Rivera why Sanders is leading by 20 points in New Hampshire, Rivera said, “Because everyone is smoking dope.”
Doocy shot back, “What about Iowa? They’re not smoking dope in Iowa.”
Standing by his claim, Rivera said, “But Iowa’s got the famous Writers Workshop, Iowa University, Iowa State. There’s so many young folks there. Bernie Sanders is like Ted Cruz. They are extremist candidates who will not be in the final mix.”
