The head of Germany’s intelligence agency, BfV, announced Friday that Islamic State members have continually entered Germany disguised as Syrian refugees.

Hans-Georg Maassen, the head of the BfV, claims that though this is an issue that needs to be addressed, there is no evidence of an imminent attack, Duetsche Welle reports.

“We have repeatedly seen that terrorists… have slipped in camouflaged or disguised as refugees. This is a fact that the security agencies are facing,” Masseen told German broadcaster ZDF.

Masseen claimed in the Berliner Zeitung newspaper that the BfV has received more than 100 tip-offs in regards to terrorist infiltration among asylum-seekers in Germany, though many were dismissed as defamation.

This statement comes just a day after German police arrested two Algerian men for plotting a terrorist attack on Berlin. One of these men was staying at a refugee camp in Attendorn, Germany and both have suspected ties to ISIS.

Europe remains on high alert since the November Paris attacks that killed 130 people while they deal with their largest refugee crisis since World War II. Some of the Paris attackers entered the EU using Syrian passports while posing as refugees.

“We are in a serious situation and there is a high risk that there could be an attack. But the security agencies, the intelligence services and the police authorities are very alert and our goal is to minimize the risk as best we can.” Masseen stated.
