Ben Carson told Fox Business’s Neil Cavuto Tuesday that he is open to being Donald Trump’s 2016 running mate.

According to Mediaite, Cavuto first asked Carson if he would ever consider a vice presidential nomination.

“I would have to have major philosophical alignment with whoever it was,” Carson explained. “I would have to have guarantees that I could do some substantial things.”

Additionally, Cavuto pressed Carson specifically about a Trump/Carson ticket, eliciting the following response from the former neurosurgeon.

“I would certainly sit down and discuss it,” he answered.

Furthermore, Carson stated he “wouldn’t have any problem” running alongside any of the other Republican candidates, “as long as there is no significant philosophical alignment.”
