In the aftermath of Hillary Clinton’s stunning loss in New Hampshire, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell said the Democratic Party is “completely splintered.”

Tuesday night during MSNBC’s post-New Hampshire primary coverage, Mitchell said, “The Democratic Party meanwhile is completely splintered. Bernie Sanders taken on the establishment.”

“Hillary Clinton had the Democratic Party establishment, she still has their endorsement,” Mitchell said. Sanders “out raised her in January. He now will have a ton of money on those online contributions in February and the Clinton team anticipated this with the three-page memo.”

Rachel Maddow interjected, “Is this normal? Is this a normal thing that campaigns do?”

“No, no, this is pretty shocking. Because it is a three-page memo, from the campaign manager defensively explaining how they can come back and win the nomination in March with the delegate rich first 15 days in March. 1875 delegates in the first two weeks. And this is all prepared for release. We’ve had this for about a half hour. It was released at 8:00 p.m,” Mitchell noted.

“They knew they were going to lose,” Mitchell said as reported by the Washington Free Beacon.

Campaign manager Robby Mook conceded defeat even before the votes were counted in the following memo, laying out the strategy for March and their response to the impending defeat in New Hampshire.
