For the first time in months, Donald Trump is no longer leading every national GOP primary poll.

According to NBC and the Wall Street Journal, Ted Cruz is the first choice for 28 percent of Republican voters. Real estate mogul Donald Trump garnered 26 percent of the same sampling.

Unlike like the Wednesday Quinnipiac poll which still has Trump leading Cruz, the NBC/WSJ poll was conducted entirely after this past Saturday’s Republican debate in Greenville, SC.

In last month’s NBC poll, Trump led Cruz by 13 points, and Hart Research Associates — who conducted the poll — note that Trump’s drop could signal a major “shift in the campaign.”
