Ted Cruz’s Academy Award Performance

Heidi Cruz recently said that her husband’s candidacy was showing America, “the face of God whom they serve.”

Heidi has it wrong however, for Ted Cruz is more reminiscent of Elmer Gantry, author Sinclair Lewis’s sleazy 1920s sociopathic preacher, played so magnificently by Burt Lancaster. He earned an academy award for best actor for the role.

As a matter of fact, if the 2016 presidential campaign were a movie, Ted Cruz could win an academy award for best actor and his campaign for best screenplay, because it is all contrived.

But taking Heidi at her word, let’s see the face of God as embodied by her husband Ted Cruz.

According to some of his college classmates, the young Cruz was “creepy.” Apparently he was fond of wearing a paisley bath robe and stalking the hallways of the dormitory – always ending up by the girl’s wing.

Cruz’s freshman roommate is reported to have said that he would rather take a random name out of the telephone book for president instead of Tedo.

Perhaps those young college kids were ignorant in not knowing God and therefore did not recognize him in young Ted? But certainly, with nearly one half a billion people tuning in, one would hope to see in candidate Cruz a more responsible and honorable adult.

Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Cruz clearly cheated in Iowa when he knowingly fabricated the lie that Ben Carson was getting out of the race.

In describing Elmer Gantry, Sinclair Lewis writes, “He had learned how to assemble Jewish texts, Greek philosophy, and Middle-Western evangelistic anecdotes into a sermon. And he had learned that poverty was blessed, but that bankers make the best deacons.”

Ted and Heidi brag about being the first “Bush marriage” – they met as Bush staffers which ultimately led to marriage. Cruz was an adviser on legal affairs while Heidi was an adviser on economic policy and eventually director for the Western Hemisphere on the National Security Council under Condoleezza Rice. Condi helped give us the phony war in Iraq.

Also conveniently missing from Heidi’s Wikipedia bio is her service as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative to USTR head Robert Zoellick. At USTR Heidi worked on U.S.-China trade policy — the one Donald Trump talks about so much.

Heidi is a partner at Goldman Sachs, the bank George W. bailed out. She’s also a member of the lefty Council on Foreign Relations.

Now arguably, Ted Cruz’s most important relationship outside of his marriage is Goldman Sachs. It has employed his wife for the last ten years and provided him the funding to run for the US Senate — in the form of a secret, low interest million-dollar loan he failed to disclose as required by law. He got a second unreported million dollar loan from  Citibank.

Cruz has lambasted Donald Trump for having New York values, yet Cruz’s patron, Goldman Sachs, makes Trump look like a choir boy from Peoria.

According to 2ndvote.com, a conservative website that ranks corporations on a spectrum of liberal to conservative, Goldman Sachs has a stellar rating for the new world order, supporting strict gun control laws, homosexual marriage, abortion on demand and new age environmentalism.

Goldman is a supporter of the neo-liberal think tank, Center for American Progress, founded by Clinton cronies John and Tony Podesta.  Goldman signed a pledge to support liberal environmental policies concluding from the Paris Conference of 2015, including carbon taxes.  It has funded the National Urban League and YWCA, both members of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

And perhaps most perversely, Goldman signed an amicus brief requesting that the U.S. Supreme Court overturn state Same-Sex marriage bans and the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

Cruz castigates Trump and Marco Rubio with impunity saying they support Obama’s position on gay marriage (which is not true) while the Cruz’s have literally taken their “daily bread” from the filthy hands of the money grubbing secularists who are hell-bent on destroying the family.

Billy Graham, in talking about conscience, refers to 1 Peter 3:16 and says, “Conscience is the detective that watches the direction of our steps and decries every conscious transgression. Conscience is a vigilant eye before which each imagination, thought, and act, is held up for either censure or approval.”

No Heidi, We don’t see the face of God in Ted Cruz.

We see someone who appears to not have a conscience, only self-interest.

We see someone who presents himself with high morals and philosophy, yet underneath has a criminal mind who will lie, steal, cheat and incite emotional chaos to win.

We see someone who is masterfully adept at turning one group of people against another group while proclaiming himself to be the one true savior.

We see someone who is delusional at so many levels and lacks humility and love.

We do not see the face of God in Ted Cruz.
