Rep. [crscore]Paul Gosar[/crscore] blasted the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Thursday after The Daily Caller News Foundation reported the agency’s record of letting anonymous employees who devour porn and steal on the job go right back to work.
“The employee integrity cases released this week by the EPA Office of Inspector General further corroborate a culture of corruption at this lawless agency,” Gosar told TheDCNF. “This collection of porn addicts, office thieves and drunk drivers are not fit to run for dog-catcher, much less manage a federal agency.”
Gosar added that “if EPA employees would have been doing their jobs instead of watching porn, they might have reported sooner that the water in Flint, Michigan, was poisoned.”
The Arizona Republican sits on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Multiple EPA employees convicted of stealing property from the EPA and taking weed into a federal building went back to work within 30 days, according to reports from the EPA IG, which declines to identify employees even when they’re convicted of serious crimes.
A GS-15-level employee — the highest payscale grade of a federal employee — who watched porn regularly at work received only a five-day suspension, and an EPA official who violated procurement laws only had to take “interpersonal skills” training, the IG said.
Another EPA employee consumed alcohol regularly on the clock, and was arrested for driving under the influence during work hours — they retired without suffering any disciplinary actions.
Gosar is one of the EPA’s most vocal critics and called for impeachment of EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy in September 2015. He renewed his call for impeachment Thursday.
“Sadly, this type of vile behavior has become the status quo under the leadership of Administrator Gina McCarthy, who has on numerous occasions broke the law by lying to Congress in order to force over-reaching regulations down our throats,” Gosar told TheDCNF.
“This lawlessness will continue until someone is held accountable and punished. That is why I have led the way in calling for impeachment proceedings to begin immediately for Gina McCarthy. For too long, government bureaucrats have been immune to the laws that everyone else must follow and that must end now before the EPA does any more damage to our country,” Gosar said.
