Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] says the “Republican Party would be split apart” if Donald Trump becomes the nominee.

During a press gaggle in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, Rubio insisted, “There’s no way we’re going to allow the party of Reagan or the conservative movement to be taken over by a con man.” (RELATED: Rubio Slams ‘Con Artist’ Trump )

Rubio claimed Trump has “had colossal business failures. He’s built much of his empire by taking advantage of people who can’t stand up to him. So we’re going to unmask him.”

“[W]e’re going to work everyday to make sure the conservative movement does not fall into the hands of someone whose policy positions are indistinguishable from Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders,” Rubio said.

Asked if he “studied the insult” he flung in Trump’s direction earlier in the day, Rubio said, “Study his insults? No, I’m not sure about studying his insults.” (RELATED: Rubio Suggests Trump Wet His Pants During Debate )

Trump “portrays himself as something he’s not. And we look forward to unmasking him. Because what’s at stake now is important. He’s the front-runner according to the polls and the elections. He could become the nominee. And we’re not going to let that happen.”

A reporter followed up asking Rubio if he would support Trump if he were the eventual nominee and the Florida Senator said, “He’s not going to be the nominee. The Republican Party would be split apart if he became the nominee because we can’t allow the party of Reagan to be taken over by a con man.” (RELATED: Trump Dumps Out Bottle Of Water And Yells ‘Rubio’ )
