Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio won the Republican Minnesota caucus, fending off candidates Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz in the state’s first Super Tuesday contest.

Political analysts believed Trump would have a difficult time in Minnesota, as it is located in the Midwest where the Republican front-runner has not polled well. It was also believed Trump would struggle to compete in Illinois and Wisconsin, which both vote at a later date.

Minnesota’s eight congressional districts award three delegates, all of them are divvied up proportionally.

The state has 38 Republican delegates.

Polls close in Minnesota at 8:00 p.m. GMT.
