MSNBC host Rachel Maddow says the case for Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] to become the Republican nominee is “becoming increasingly fantastical.”

During MSNBC’s election coverage on Tuesday, right after NBC News called Mississippi for Donald Trump, Maddow said that it “hurts” Rubio that the case for his candidacy only comes from the “pundit class and donor class.” (RELATED: Mississippi’s First Black Mayor Since Reconstruction Likes That Trump ‘Shoots From The Hip’ [VIDEO])

“You know, the Mississippi margin was always going to be important here,” Maddow said. “The way the rest of the field stacked up was going to be important here. If Marco Rubio is in a fight for third or a fight for fourth with Ben Carson, you know, the case for Marco Rubio is becoming increasingly fantastical.”

“And it just hurts him all the more that the case for him really only comes from the Beltway and comes from the sort of pundit class and donor class that’s trying to make the case for him after state after state after state of Republican voters says [sic] no to him in the most emphatic terms,” Maddow suggested.
