MSNBC reporter Ron Allen said Thursday that liberal activists view President Obama’s Supreme Court nomination of a 60-year-old, white man from D.C. as “uninspiring” and “disappointing.”

“I’ve been talking to some Democrats, some activists who the White House has been talking to throughout this process,” Allen told Brian Williams. “And the word I’m hearing is ‘uninspiring.’ I’m also hearing the word ‘disappointing.'” (RELATED: Obama Nominates Merrick Garland To Supreme Court)

“The disappointment stems from the fact that Garland — his age, he’s in his sixties — he’s white. he’s from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. He’s from Harvard. He does not bring what people see as more diversity to the court.”
