During a Thursday interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Bernie Sanders denied claims his campaign is losing momentum and called the thought of dropping out of the race “absurd.”

“I know that you consider President Obama a friend,” Maddow told the Vermont senator. “I just have to ask your response,” to the New York Times report claiming Obama is rallying DNC donors around Hillary Clinton. (REPORT: Obama Pushes Donors To Back Hillary Despite Authenticity Problems)

“Well I don’t want to speculate on what he said or what he didn’t say,” Sanders responded. “In fact, I’ve heard there has been some pushback from the White House kind of indicating that he didn’t say that.”

“But the bottom line is that when only half of the American people have participated in the political process,” he continued. “I think it is absurd for anybody to suggest that those people not have a right to cast a vote.”
