The Sayreville police officer was reportedly found in a car outside a closed movie theater, NJ.com reports. The officer, who has not been named, worked as an undercover cop for the force but was off-duty when fatally shot Monday morning. Police are still investigating the death, and more details have not been released.
“We have been alerted to a report of a body located near the former movie theater in Sayreville,” Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement to WABC-TV. “The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating with the cooperation of the Sayreville Police Department.
