Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump runs his campaign “in the style of an authoritarian strongman,” according to a news article published by Politico Magazine Sunday.
“His [Trump’s] campaign, run in the style of an authoritarian strongman, has earned him sharp criticism from American Jews, the largest Jewish community outside of Israel,” freelance journalist Gregg Carlstrom writes in the opening paragraphs of the story.
Carlstrom used to work for Al Jazeera, but now writes primarily for The Times of London and the Economist. Although he writes at length about the ins and outs of Jewish opinions of Trump, contrasting American Jews with Israeli Jews, Carlstrom does not back up, qualify or explain his characterization of the Trump campaign.
Carlstrom could not be reached for comment. Politico Magazine editor Elizabeth Ralph did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
