Hillary Clinton says that instead of shutting down the Clinton Foundation while she runs for president, she will be “transparent” to avoid any ethical concerns that may arise from donations from Americans as well as foreign nationals who give to the foundation.

During MSNBC’s town hall event moderated by Rachel Maddow on Wednesday, Clinton said, “I would hate to lose that creativity, that imagination, that… extraordinary flexibility that the Clinton Foundation provides.” (RELATED: Ethics Complaint Says Big Clinton Donors Got State Dept Access)

Maddow asked Clinton, “Is there a case to be made, an ethical case to be made that the Clinton Foundation and the global initiative should essentially be wound down as a family foundation while you run for president?” (RELATED: Maybe This Is Why Hillary Clinton Is Such A Big Supporter Of The Export-Import Bank)

The liberal MSNBC host noted that “the way that some of that work gets done is by soliciting donations from people in this country, from people around the world, from organizations around the world. I think it is not unreasonable to suspect that people may give donations to The Clinton Foundation hoping that they will favorably influence your opinion toward them, as a presidential candidate, or eventually as president if you’re elected.” (RELATED: Claim: Hillary Grand Jury Called, FBI Looking Into Political Corruption)

Clinton responded to Maddow’s ethical concerns claiming, “Well, look, I think that the work that it’s done has been extraordinary. And I give the credit to my husband and my daughter, because I haven’t been involved– for that long. And, you know, when I look at what they’ve accomplished, and what they’ve been able to amplify in terms of saving lives — by getting the price of drugs for HIV/AIDS down in sub-Saharan Africa.”

“It’s quite astonishing. And I would hate to lose that creativity, that imagination, that — extraordinary flexibility,” Clinton said. “So, I think the answer is transparency. And there is no doubt that there will be — complete transparency about — donations.”

“But when you have hundreds of thousands of people who are donating — as they do — I think that — the best — answer for that is what we have been doing for the last several years. And that is — to be transparent about it. And let — you know, let voters and others make their judgment,” Clinton said. (RELATED: Hillary, Aides Must Choose: Tell Email Truth Or Risk Jail By Lying)

As reported by The Daily Caller and The Daily Caller News Foundation, there is ample evidence to suggest at least “preferential treatment” if not full-blown “political corruption” provided by Secretary Clinton to individuals and corporations from around the world that donated to the Clinton Foundation.

For example, when Clinton defended the Export Import Bank at the Democratic Debate in Flint, Michigan in early March, she failed to disclose that corporations including Boeing, General Electric, Exxon Mobil, Dow Chemical, and Emirates Airline, have received billions of dollars in handouts from Export-Import Bank also provided vast financial contributions to the Clinton Foundation.

Moreover, at the beginning of the year, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed a formal complaint against Clinton for providing “preferential treatment” to wealthy political donors and backers of the Clinton Foundation while she was Secretary of State.

The DCNF reported that FACT filed the complaint with the Office of Government Ethics, asking the feds to conduct a “full investigation” into Secretary Clinton’s “apparent breach of ethics rules.”

According to FACT, while Clinton was secretary of state, she gave “preferential treatment to individuals with which she had financial ties” and “regularly granted access” to rich donors, celebrities, and even powerful foreign individuals. It is against the law for foreign nationals to donate to political candidates.

Also, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Colombia Joseph E. diGenova claims that there is an FBI probe into possible political corruption involving Clinton when she was secretary of state due to her “activities” with the Clinton Foundation.” (RELATED: Report: Feds Moving Forward With Plan To Interview Hillary In Email Investigation)
