President Barack Obama’s Christmas vacation to Hawaii set taxpayers back a cool $3.5 million in flight expenses alone, according to data from the Department of the Air Force.

Educational foundation Judicial Watch revealed Wednesday the Obama family vacation to the president’s home state used Air Force One and a Boeing C-32A, which in total cost taxpayers more than $3.5 million. The Boeing C-32A was reportedly used to transport the First Lady.

President Obama’s family trips to the pacific islands over the past eight years have racked up more than $28 million in travel expenses, according to the U.S. Air Force.

Records from the Department of Homeland Security, seen by Judicial Watch show the public footing a hefty bill for Obama’s four trips to New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Palm City Florida in 2014 and 2015.

All in all the trips cost $286,416.64 for Secret Service and accommodation. The trips to New York and LA were only made for fundraising purposes while the trip to Chicago gave a boost to Obama’s former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. The Palm City visit allowed the president to enjoy several rounds of golf.

“The American people have every right to be appalled that Barack Obama wastes their precious tax dollars on an endless stream of golf vacations, political fundraisers, and exorbitant vacations,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.  “The Obama travel issue is about abuse of office, abuse of the taxpayer, and contempt for the rule of law.”
