Ben Carson, who has endorsed Donald Trump for president, says the Republican National Committee is not being fair because “they try to pick and choose who the candidates should be and they… focus attention and help to certain people, other people they try to ignore.”

In an interview with Chuck Todd on “MSNBC Live” on Friday, the former neurosurgeon said that “the important thing is the people and RNC and everybody, the DNC, everybody needs to recognize that this country is built around the will of the people. And all of these pundits and big time political people need to stop for a moment and say, ‘Do we really care about what the people want?'”

Todd asked Carson, “Do you believe the RNC has been fair in this process, both when you were a candidate and now you are a Trump supporter. Do you think the RNC has been fair about the process?” (RELATED: Trump Meets With RNC After Saying He’s Treated Unfairly)

“I think they think they are fair,” Carson suggested. “But no, I don’t think so. I think they try to pick and choose who the candidates should be and they you know focus attention and help to certain people, other people they try to ignore.”

Todd followed up, asking, “Are you concerned that if Donald Trump does not get in the first ballot that the RNC will do whatever it takes to stop him?”

“I think they will be thinking that way but hopefully between now and then, they’ll come to understand that if they try to undermine the way of the people, they will have not only destroyed their party but they will fundamentally change the mind of the United States of America,” Carson said. (RELATED: Rove: Scrap Trump, Cruz And Kasich And Go With A ‘Fresh Face’ [AUDIO])
