The Hillary Clinton campaign held a conference call with press Friday in which she used the parents of a victim in the Aurora Colorado shooting to attack Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Lonnie and Sandy Phillips lost their daughter, Jessica Ghawi, in the 2012 Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting which left 12 dead. The two parents sued the website which sold the weapons and ammo to the shooter. Their case was ruled a frivolous lawsuit and they now owe $200,000 in legal fees.

“When we talked with Bernie, Bernie stood by his vote and was not willing to discuss anything to do with guns. He did promise that he would have a gun stance at some point or another but he still truly to this day does not,” Sandy Phillips said during the call.  (RELATED: Hillary Cheers On Woman Who Implies Bernie Doesn’t Care About Dead Kids)

She added, “and on what stance he does have, he flip-flops quite often.”

Sanders does have a gun stance and the Vermont Senator currently has a D- from the National Rifle Association. The vote the Philips take issue with is that Sanders supported a bill that protects gun manufactures from lawsuits.

He has defended this vote by saying, “What you’re really talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America. I don’t agree with that.”

Sandy added, “The only reason we feel Bernie has stated anything to do with guns is Hillary has pushed him into a corner where he has to.”
