During a Wednesday morning interview on “Morning Joe,” Hillary Clinton told hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough that Bernie Sanders isn’t the only candidate young people like.

“Look, I think it’s exciting to be, in effect, protesting,” Clinton said of Sanders supporters. “I remember I did that a long time ago, when I was in my twenties, and I totally get the attraction of this.”

“In all the research that I have seen about who is supporting Sen. Sanders, a lot of the young people like both of us,” the former secretary of state added. “They really like me, they admire what I’ve done, what I stand for, and they really, really like him.”

“So I’m not as worried as the numbers might show about how he has attracted so many young people, because I think that it is important to bring them into the process, and I give him a lot of credit for doing that.”

Despite Clinton’s claim, her poll numbers among millennials come nowhere close to matching those of Sen. Sanders.

Though she eventually walked away with more delegates, Clinton lost among voters aged 18-29 in every state on Super Tuesday, some by a margin as large as 90 percent.

Additionally, a recent poll from Democracy Corps reflects “reluctance on the part of Sanders supporters” to support Clinton over Republican front-runner Donald Trump in the general election.
