Ben Carson told a radio host Friday that his advice to Donald Trump would be to read the Bible and pray.

Carson has endorsed Trump and was asked what advice he would give to the real estate developer. “I would say read the Bible and pray and learn how to put yourselves in other people’s shoes,” Carson said on Election Cycle with Rita Cosby.

During the interview Carson said that Trump acknowledged the need for “repair” on his campaign and that he needs to soften his tone.

“For him it’s a matter of just switching over to his normal persona as opposed to the Apprentice Persona,” Carson said.”

“You probably heard him saying how presidential he was going to start being and it’s easier said than done,” Carson said. He added, “but for him it’s a matter of just switching over to his normal persona as opposed to the Apprentice persona.”

The neurosurgeon said that Trump will start giving policy speeches in the future on the economy and foreign policy instead of the usual stump speech.

Carson was confident that the New York real estate developer will be the nominee. “The Republican base is not completely stupid and they realize that if we put somebody in there who has not won a vote of the people, it’s going to be a disaster,” he said.
