MSNBC host Joe Scarborough says that Barack Obama has “rigged” the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server by commenting on the case before the investigation has concluded.

Monday on “Morning Joe,” Scarborough said that Obama “has made a fool” of FBI Director James Comey by suggesting that the FBI “investigation doesn’t matter because the scales [have been tipped in Clinton’s favor].” (RELATED: Obama: Hillary ‘Has Not Jeopardized America’s National Security’ With Her Private Email Server)

Scarborough was incensed that Obama would claim that Clinton “has not jeopardized America’s national security” despite the fact the investigation has not concluded.  (RELATED: Obama Guarantees There’s ‘No Political Influence’ In Hillary’s FBI Investigation)

Bloomberg’s John Heilemann, referring to Obama’s interview on “Fox News Sunday” where the president doubled down on his claim that Clinton didn’t jeopardize national security by operating a private email server, said that Obama is “undermining” the investigation into Clinton.

Heilemann added that the president is also “putting his finger on the scale in terms of Hillary Clinton versus Bernie Sanders.” (RELATED: Reports: Some Of Hillary Clinton’s Emails Are ‘Too Damaging’ To National Security To Release)

Co-host Mika Brzezinski argued that Obama was “campaigning for Hillary, may as well endorse her.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton’s Emails Contain ‘Operational Intelligence’ That Put Lives At Risk)

“If I were a Bernie Sanders supporter, I would not appreciate the president of the United States doing something that as Bernie Sanders criticizes her judgment on the email thing, having the president weigh in on her side on national television,” Heilemann argued, adding, “I find that inappropriate.” (RELATED: Klein: Comey And ‘A Lot Of Other FBI Agents’ Will Resign If Hillary Is Not Indicted [VIDEO])

Panelist Nicolle Wallace, who worked for George W. Bush, said that the first person that Bush saw in the morning was the FBI director. “As a staffer, I would have prepared [the president] for the question by saying, ‘I know Hillary Clinton, I know what kind of person she is, I think she has good judgment’ and I would have told him to leave the investigation alone. So I don’t know if he got that advice, he has some smart people around him and ignored it.”

“I don’t know if [Obama] got requests from the Clinton campaign to throw her a lifeline, she’s lost eight of the last nine contests but again, you go back to the backdrop on which the campaign is being waged and it certainly felt like someone putting their finger on the scale for someone for whom the investigation has not been wrapped up,” Wallace argued. Scarborough then said that “a criminal investigation is being rigged.”
