A set of Jared Fogle’s text messages released by the government detail the “great lengths” Fogle would go to so he could “engage in sex acts with underage minors.”

According to the Indy Star, the texts were originally included in a filing made to the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals noting that Fogle had a “pattern” in pursuing victims.

“He found adult escorts through the Internet, developed relationships with them, and offered them finder’s fees to provide him with access to minors for commercial sex,” the brief stated. “He bought and offered plane tickets. He reserved and paid for the hotel rooms, made arrangements for the commercial sex acts.”

The filing claimed Fogle continued this “web of deceptions and depravity” in multiple locales — including Richmond, Kansas City and Las Vegas — and gave examples of some of the texts Fogle sent escort agencies:

FOGLE: I’ll pay you big for a 14- or 15-year-old

FOGLE: Did you find me some young girls or boys?

FOGLE: If they can and you get me 16 or below, I’ll give you 400 at least.

Fogle is currently serving a sixteen year sentence, which government lawyers argue accurately reflects the “unusual nature and circumstances of Fogle’s offenses and his history and characteristics.”
