On the day of the state’s primary, New York Republican Rep. [crscore]Peter King[/crscore] acknowledged hating [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] and joked that he would take “take cyanide” if the Texas senator wins his party’s nomination.

Speaking about the primary on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, King said: “Well, first of all, in case anybody gets confused, I’m not endorsing Ted Cruz. I hate Ted Cruz. And I think I’ll take cyanide if he got the nomination.”

The show’s host, Joe Scarborough, simply responded: “Wow.”

King, a frequent critic of Cruz since the Texan was elected to the Senate, continued: “Now, having said that. I think you are going to see Donald Trump scoring a big victory tonight. I do not endorse Donald Trump. In fact, I actually voted by absentee ballot for John Kasich. I’m not endorsing John, but I voted for him to really send a message.”
