Kelly Ripa failed to show up for her talk show “Live with Kelly and Michael” Wednesday morning, and there is no word yet on when she will return.
Multiple sources have said that she was “blindsided” by the news her co-host Michael Strahan was leaving to join “Good Morning America” and notified ABC she would not be there in the morning.
“Kelly told ABC she wasn’t coming in last night,” People reported. “They don’t know yet when she’ll be back.”
“Another TV source says Ripa is currently “refusing to come back” and that while she could decide to return any time, her plan is not to for the rest of this week,”the report concluded.
Ripa’s reaction to Strahan leaving is reportedly not sitting well with people in the know.
“She is acting like a child, a diva and hurting her reputation with this sort of behavior,” a source told the New York Daily News. “It makes her look bad and makes all the horrible rumors about her bad attitude off camera seem true.”
At the end of Wednesday show, Strahan thanked Ripa and told her “I love you”.
“I really want to thank, of course, Kelly Ripa,” Strahan said. “Kelly welcomed me here, and I’ve learned so much from her. She’s just been an amazing influence on me and this has truly changed my life to be here with her.”
“Kelly, I thank you. I love you and everyone else here at Live!, and I’m not going to cry on TV momma, I promise you,” he concluded.
