Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] is accusing rival Donald Trump of bowing to political correctness — a quality the New York businessman often rails against — with his position on the North Carolina law about transgender people and bathrooms.

“Common sense: grown men shouldn’t be in bathrooms w/ little girls. @realDonaldTrump told us he could be PC, but wow,” Cruz tweeted Thursday.

Cruz added: “We shouldn’t be facilitating putting little girls alone in a bathroom w/ grown men. That’s just a bad, bad, bad idea.”

Asked Thursday about North Carolina’s law saying transgender people should use bathrooms in government-owned facilities according to their gender at birth, Trump took issue with it. “Leave it the way it is,” Trump said, arguing the law is not necessary.

“There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go. They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate,” Trump said.
