Prince was treated for a drug overdose a few days before he died, a new report claims.
The 57-year-old singer was found dead in an elevator at his Minnesota estate Thursday, and now multiple sources have told TMZ that he was treated for a drug overdose when his plane made an emergency landing in Illinois six days earlier — not the flu like his reps said. “Multiple sources in Moline tell us, Prince was rushed to a hospital and doctors gave him a ‘save shot,’ typically administered to counteract the effects of an opiate,” TMZ reports.
“Our sources further say doctors advised Prince to stay in the hospital for 24 hours. His people demanded a private room, and when they were told that wasn’t possible, Prince and co. decided to bail.” (RELATED: PRINCE — DEAD AT 57)
An autopsy is expected to be performed Friday.
