Black Lives Matter, But DeRay’s Baltimore Mayoral Campaign Didn’t

Font Size:

There wasn’t a lot of good news for conservatives last night. A lifetime liberal, habitual liar, and all-around awful human being took one step closer to clinching the nomination, and so did Hillary Clinton. But at least we can take comfort in one undeniable fact: DeRay got stomped.

Luke Broadwater, Baltimore Sun:

Prominent Black Lives Matter activist DeRay Mckesson finished in sixth place Tuesday in the Democratic primary for Baltimore mayor.

With 95 percent of results tallied, Mckesson garnered 3,008 votes — or 2.5 percent of the total…

“While we did not win tonight, what we did was very important, and I want you to be as proud of our work together as I am,” Mckesson said. “We did something very special, and it sets the table for what else is possible.”

What, fifth place?

The Twitter Candidate got one vote for every 114 followers. That’s quite an exchange rate. Now more than ever, I’m proud to show off my badge of honor:

Better luck next time, DeRay. Now you can get back to the important work of exploiting the deaths of criminals to promote yourself. Say hi to Colbert for us.
