Supporters of Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] will likely be the majority of delegates the commonwealth of Virginia will send to the Republican National Committee convention this summer.

An inside source tells The Daily Caller that Cruz’s team of proposed delegates will be at the Virginia Republican State Convention Saturday and use their numbers to fill the 13 statewide available delegate posts.

“The Cruz campaign is mobilized in Virginia and they will likely dominate the convention floor on Friday and Saturday,” a Virginia Republican central committee member told Politico.

Cruz leaning delegates already locked up five of six delegate slots in two Congressional districts that held local elections in the last two weeks.

Trump won the Virginia primary with 35 percent of the vote. Florida Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] took 32 percent, Cruz garnered 17 percent, and Kasich won a little over 9 percent of the vote.

However, like other states where Trump won the contest and Cruz outmaneuvered him in the delegate selection process, Virginia delegates are bound to their primary results on the first ballot, so the Texas Republican must ensure that Trump does not have 1237 delegates supporting him on the first ballot.
