While campaigning in Indiana on Monday, a man told Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] he was “mathematically eliminated, you’re not going to be able to steal the nomination” from Donald Trump.

Cruz responded, “Thank you sir.”

Later the man said, “People can’t decide to put you in because you’ve already been mathematically eliminated.”

The Texas senator retorted, “Well, are you going to have the same view when Donald Trump is mathematically eliminated because he’s not going to get to 1,237 so are you going to call on him to drop out?”

Cruz continued, “Winning elections is not stealing it and the people will decide, it’s not going to be the media.”

The man said, “Donald Trump has millions more votes than you do.”

Cruz replied, “Let me ask you a question, why do you think the mainstream media wants Donald Trump to be the nominee?”

The man replied, “They don’t want Donald Trump to be the nominee. Where do you get your money? Who is funding you?”

Encouraging the man to go to his campaign’s website, Cruz ultimately thanked the man for “being respectful, I appreciate that. You’re entitled to your views and I will defend your First Amendment right even if I disagree with what you’re saying.”
