Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson will assist presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in choosing a vice presidential running mate.

Trump told The New York Times Wednesday, “I’ll set up a committee, and that I will do soon,” he said. “I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks.”

Trump said a decision will surface on his VP pick around July and that he wants a “political person” to run with.

Additionally, Gov. John Kasich, who announced he is suspending his campaign Wednesday after Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] suspended his campaign Tuesday night, is reportedly “not at this moment” on Trump’s short-list of the VP picks.
