Arsenio Hall has filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit against Sinead O’Connor after the singer posted on her Facebook that he had provided drugs to Prince.

On Thursday, in the suit filed in Los Angeles, Hall calls the singer a “desperate, attention-seeker … now known perhaps as much for her bizarre, unhinged internet rants as for her music,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Hall says the singer accused him of supplying Prince over decades with illegal drugs, and called Prince a “longtime hard drug user.” (RELATED: Report: Percocet Found In Prince System, Link To Death Unknown)

The former talk show host reportedly denies ever providing the legendary singer with drugs and says that her accusations are “extraordinarily damaging” to the reputation he has built.

Part of the lawsuit reads, “Ever since O’Connor posed her malicious and reckless lies about Hall on her ‘OFFICIAL Facebook page’ (where they have been commented on and forwarded thousands of times), her brazen lies have spread like wildfire across the media throughout the United States and the world.”
