Returning to the Senate for the first time since dropping out of the Republican race for president, Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] told reporters outside his office: “I have no interest in a third party run.”

His comments come as some of his supporters and other disaffected conservatives are trying to draft someone to run third party against Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, the likely Republican and Democratic nominees for president.

Cruz, who did not endorse presumptive nominee Donald Trump during the press conference, said: “I’m certainly disappointed with the outcome. That I disappointed so many millions of grassroots activists.”

The Republican withdrew from the race a week ago, after losing the Indiana primary to Trump.
