Susan Sarandon praised the Kardashian family for their social media presence at the Cannes Film Festival, saying they could “buy America.”
The actress told a Variety reporter at the festival that the pressure to be in the spotlight while maintaining active social media accounts is really insane.
“Anybody that has a TV series, for instance, they expect you to keep that account up,” she said. “That’s part of your job now, is to have a certain amount of followers,” Sarandon added.
“Like, the Kardashians obviously have it down to a science,” the actress later said. “But that’s all they do, so that’s their job. But if you try to do a different job and that job, that’s a lot, you know.”
“I don’t know how they do that,” she added. “They live with crews their entire lives, and they do it really well. They’ve monetized everything.”
“The mother is amazing, what she’s done starting with a porno film and look they’ve got a whole — they could buy America,” the actress said.
