Katrina Pearson, spokeswoman for GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump, was asked about Trump’s lagging support from women voters and offered a novel defense: He’s endorsed by his wife, Melania Trump.
Asked about a new Hillary Clinton super PAC ad using Trump’s past words about women against him, Pierson told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “Women know Donald Trump is a very successful businessperson. He’s raised a wonderful family. His own wife endorsed him for president, so this is a narrative that they’ve overreached on, they’re going to overplay and ultimately will fail.”
