Rush Limbaugh has spoken highly of Donald Trump throughout the 2016 presidential cycle leading one caller to question why he has not endorsed the presumptive Republican nominee yet.

Monday on “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” Limbaugh said, “You know, in the words of a famous and well-known politician, ‘What difference does it make now?'” (RELATED: Limbaugh: ‘Trump Is Gonna Win, Beat Hillary Badly’)

Later, after the caller keep questioning Limbaugh about his lack of an outright endorsement, the conservative radio titan said, “I think it’s a moot point now!”

“Look, I’ve never endorsed in primaries. I’ve never made it a big deal. I’ve tried to always downplay it to boot,” Limbaugh said. “I don’t live under any delusions here that people are going to make up their minds on these serious things just ’cause I happen to tell people who I’m for.” (RELATED: Limbaugh: If Trump Unloads On Hillary, Many Americans Will Be ‘Orgasmic With Delight’ [AUDIO])

“Anyway, I appreciate the concern, I appreciate the desire to help, I appreciate the offer of assistance, and the advice.  But it hasn’t even crossed my mind,” Limbaugh claimed. “I think endorsing Trump at this stage is like a, ‘Oh, really?  Where you been?  So what.'”

“[I]t’s what I do.  But I appreciate the thought.  I’m very much appreciative, very appreciative of the fact that you want me to appear to be relevant, engaged, and purposeful in this — or not purposeful, but relevant, engaged, and influential in this,” Limbaugh said. “I appreciate that.  I know that’s what you want. I understand that. I do. But I must be true to my instincts, which I always have been.”
