Two Milwaukee Sheriff’s deputies were injured when a woman reversed her car and crashed into their cruiser during a traffic stop, CBS 58 Milwaukee reports.
A video of the incident shows Kelvina D. Freeman reversing her car, flinging one deputy into oncoming traffic before she crashes into their cruiser. A passenger in Freeman’s car, who was standing outside of the car at the time of the incident, was thrown into a concrete wall.
Both officers and Freeman’s passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but one of the deputies was nearly hit by a truck after being hurled into traffic. Officers originally pulled Freeman over because she was speeding, but discovered that her license was suspended during the stop. The officers called a tow truck to the scene, and Freeman put her car into reverse once it arrived.
One of the injured deputies attempted to apprehend Freeman shortly after the incident. Freeman was ultimately captured several days later and is now facing up to 45 years in prison.
