Al Gore’s Climate Change Project announced Wednesday that the former vice president help will train a group of community, government and business leaders in China to become global warming activists euphemistically called “Climate Reality Leaders.”

The Climate Reality Leadership Corps training event will be in Shenzhen, China and is scheduled for June 15-16. Gore will be joined at the event by a host of scientists, strategists, business leaders, communicators and technical specialists, all of whom will do their level-best to properly indoctrinate Chinese citizens about why so-called man-made global warming is dangerous.

“In April, China, the United States, and 172 other nations signed a historic agreement, demonstrating a bold and unified global commitment to solving the climate crisis,” Al Gore said in a press statement on Wednesday.

Gore added: “The Paris Agreement – which could not have been achieved without China’s global leadership and determination – lays the foundation for countries, businesses, investors, and citizens around the world to support and work toward the sustainable growth of a clean energy economy. Our goal is to build upon the global consensus on climate change re-affirmed by the Paris Agreement. As the largest nation on Earth and one of the most important in terms of fighting climate change, there is no more relevant place to hold the training than China.”

The former vice president and his crew will focus on China because the country was crucial to making the Paris climate summit agreement in December possible, according to the press release.

President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping announced in 2014 a joint effort to confront global warming. The U.S. promised to cut carbon emissions 26 to 28 percent by 2025, while China would slash its CO2 emissions by 2030.

Obama seemed excited at the prospect of China working with the U.S. to stem the rising tides and stifle global warming.

“Our work together — to increase our trade, boost the global economy, fight climate change and prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon — shows that when the United States and China work together, it makes our nations and the world more prosperous and more secure,” Obama told the press after meeting Xi in September.

Yet, some of the luster between the two nations likely dimmed a little after The New York Times reported earlier this year that China was pumping 17 percent more coal a year than initially thought, which was bound to complicate the agreement between the U.S. and China.

Even for a country of China’s size, the scale of the correction is immense,” The NYT reported at the time. “The sharp upward revision in official figures means that China has released much more carbon dioxide… than previously estimated. The increase alone is greater than the whole German economy emits annually from fossil fuels.”

Still, Gore and the Climate Change Project remain undaunted – they have, after all, trained thousands of so-called Climate Reality Leaders from more than 130 countries.
