ISIS has been waging a new war recently, but it’s not against a specific group of people. Instead, their enemy is television.

The terrorist group has called on Muslims to destroy their televisions and satellites, which they say are being used for the purpose of “waging a media war on the Islamic State.” They even demonstrated their techniques in a video, as several ISIS members stomp on satellite dishes.

Their declarations came through a broadcast on an app called Telegram, which allows them to transmit video to their members, according to Mirror Online. ISIS believes that television channels, including Saudi Arabian religious channels, are “destroying their beliefs and polluting their ethics.”

While military forces continue to attack ISIS, including in Fallujah, the group feels that the actions of the media are “no less dangerous than the military campaign.”

In January, ISIS sent out an infographic, titled “The Enemy Within,” that listed some of the risks of watching television. According to them, the media are being treacherous by “insulting Allah,” “propagating sorcery” and “promoting the religion of democracy and secularism.”

Previously, ISIS has outlawed transactions involving televisions in their territories in order for people to remain uninfluenced by foreign channels, such as Al Jazeera.

It’s even believed that members of ISIS have gone into some Syrian homes and destroyed satellite receivers so people can’t watch outside coverage.
